Wightman Telecom has selected the Enablence BroadAccess Multi-Service Access Platform (MSAP) from Enablence Technologies Inc., a supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment and multi-service access platforms for triple-play, residential, and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro, and long-haul markets. The MSAP was chosen for the delivery of residential voice, video, and data services.

Jamii Telecom of Kenya has signed a Sh1.2 billion ($14.8 million) deal with ZTE Corp. to connect 100,000 homes with a fiber to the home (FTTH) network, reports Business Daily. Jamii asserts it will be the first Internet service provider (ISP) in Kenya to deploy an FTTH network.

Enablence Technologies Inc. (TSX: ENA-V) says that VTX Telecom LLC (VTXT), a subsidiary of Valley Telephone Cooperative Inc. (VTCI), will deploy Enablence platforms to construct a fiber-based network throughout the southern region of Texas. VTX Telecom was one of the U.S. broadband stimulus funding recipients.
