Corning Cable Systems to deliver passive solutions for Australian NBN fiber to the home deployment

Corning Cable Systems Pty. Ltd., part of Corning Inc.’s Telecommunications segment, has been selected as a primary NBN Co supplier of optical fiber cable and hardware for the Australian government’s National Broadband Network (NBN) initiative to bring high-speed broadband services nationwide.

Broadband stimulus winner Hardy Telecommunications chooses Zhone MXK

Swisscom and Groupe E partner for Fribourg fiber network

Switzerland’s Competition Commission is reviewing a proposed joint venture between Swisscom and electrical utility Groupe E focused on extending fiber-optic network connections in the canton of Fribourg. The proposed partnership is the third pairing with a utility that Swisscom has announced in recent weeks. Fiber to the home (FTTH) connections would be part of the network extension.

Swisscom, Energie Wasser Bern agree on Berne FTTH/FTTB network

Energie Wasser Bern and Swisscom have reached an agreement to extend the City of Berne's fiber-optic network into city households. The agreement will see 90 percent of buildings in the city with fiber to the home/business (FTTH/FTTB) access by 2017.
