Alcatel-Lucent unveils XG-PON1 version of ISAM for 10G GPON apps
July 4, 2011By Stephen Hardy -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced last week that it plans to add XG-PON1 capabilities to its Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) IP access platform. XG-PON1, the first version of 10G GPON approved by FSAN, supports 10 Gbps downstream and 2.5 Gbps upstream.

Chunghwa Telecom using Alcatel-Lucent for GPON
July 4, 2011Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) says it is working with Chunghwa Telecom to build the country’s first gigabit passive optical network (GPON). The Taiwanese carrier will use the GPON fiber to the home (FTTH) and business network to provide triple-play services to its residential and business customers.
