Metro equipment vendor PacketLight Networks Ltd. has introduced the PL-1000TN, a compact optical transport device containing six independent, standards-based multi-rate optical 8G/10G OTU2 transponders. This highly integrated device provides Optical Transport Network (OTN) capabilities with transport capacity of 60 Gbps in a compact 1U platform.

InnoTrans Communications says it has received a multiyear contract to supply its Chromadigm 1550-nm ITU-T compliant forward optical transmitters to one of the five largest U.S. cable operators. The company declined to further identify the cable MSO customer.
