PeakColo selects Zayo dark fiber for high-capacity network service, cloud systems

Zayo, a provider of bandwidth, collocation, and dark fiber infrastructure services, has signed a multi-year agreement to provide PeakColo, a Denver-based provider of cloud-based products and services, with dark fiber. The dark fiber will serve as the core connectivity in PeakColo’s western-area network, enhancing the speed and performance of cloud services to customers in its Colorado and Arizona data centers.

Integra Telecom expands fiber network by 20 percent

Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of enterprise-grade networking and communications systems, has expanded its network in major metropolitan areas of the western U.S. Integra has extended its fiber network to nearly 300 additional commercial buildings this year--marking a 20 percent increase in on-net buildings since the beginning of the year.

Zayo rises to meet bandwidth needs in West Virginian network

SEACOM demos 100-Gbps via Infinera 500-Gbps PIC

In the first demonstration of its 500-Gbps photonic integrated circuits (PICs), Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN) says it has supplied the technology SEACOM is using in private demonstration of 100-Gbps terrestrial transmission. The pan-African submarine network developer is running five wavelengths of 100-Gbps each looped between SEACOM’s Mtunzini cable landing station in KwaZulu Natal and the Teraco data center in Johannesburg. The total transmission distance is 1732 km.
