Phoenix Photonics of the UK says it plans to unveil a new multi-channel “plug and play” polarization controller at ECOC, which will be held in Geneva starting September 18. The new polarization controller will support polarization management in up to four independent channels simultaneously, according to the company.

Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe has launched a partner for its CHAIS ADC for 100-Gbps coherent receivers. The new 8-bit, four-channel DAC leverages 40-nm CMOS technology and provides a sampling rate range of 55 to 65 GSa/s per channel at a power dissipation of 0.75 W per channel.

NeoPhotonics Corp. (NYSE: NPTN) has added longer-reach SFP+ transceivers to its line of modules that meet 40-km (ER) and 80-km (ZR) reach requirements and support various communication protocols. The new SFP+ optical transceiver modules complement NeoPhotonics existing 6-Gbps SFP+ transceivers for Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) and 10-Gbps SFP+ modules for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and OC-192/STM-64 SONET/SDH transport.

Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MSPD) has announced a 1.25-Gbps complement to its 10-Gbps EPON burst-mode receiver chipset for EPON optical line termination (OLT) receiver equipment. The M02038 1.25 Gbps transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for OLT equipment can be used with the company’s previously announced M02028 continuous-mode 1.25 Gbps TIA for subscriber-side optical networking units (ONUs) to tackle both ends of an EPON link.

Centellax says it has released the model #SSB17 3- to 17-Gbps stressed serial BERT for testing to 16x Fibre Channel (16GFC) and 14G InfiniBand FDR standards. The SSB17 offers the highest performance for compliance verification at rates between 3 and 17 Gbps, Centallax asserts.

Oclaro Inc. (NASDAQ: OCLR) has expanded its 100-Gbps coherent product portfolio with the introduction of the CR5100 series of 100-Gbps coherent receivers. The new receivers are directed at implementation of polarization-multiplexed quadrature phase-shift keying (PM-QPSK, also referred to as DP-QPSK, for dual-polarization QPSK) modulation with coherent detection.
