Ixia (NASDAQ: XXIA) has introduced its next-generation testing architecture. Elements of the new Xcellon line can support terabit traffic generation. Its high-density architecture features the ability to combine the processing power of up to four multi-core CPUs to deliver up to 12X the per-port performance of the nearest competitor, Ixia asserts.

Bluelight Technology has announced the availability of its BlueScope BL6000A, a handheld multiprotocol network test and measurement tool. The handheld BL6000A combines Ethernet (Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet), SONET/SDH (up to 10G), Optical Transport Network (OTN; up to ODU-2F), and Fibre Channel (up to 10x) testing in a single platform.

Digital Lightwave Inc. has announced the availability of enhanced OTN multiplexing test support for its NIC Platform. The new functionality is designed to test the full range of standard multiplex structures as defined within ITU-T Recommendation G.709 from the ODU0 up to the 43G ODU3.

NOVEMBER 9, 2010 -- EXFO Inc. (Nasdaq:EXFO) (TSX:EXF) has launched the FOT-5200 CWDM Channel Analyzer, a new test and measurement instrument for CWDM networks. EXFO touts the FOT-5200 as the fastest and smallest tester on the market for the installation, maintenance, and repair of any CWDM network. The FOT-5200 is being targeted at least in part at mobile backhaul activation for telcos and cable TV operators.
