OptoTest Corp. has launched the OP931, designed primarily to measure bi-directional insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) quickly and accurately. The OP931 joins OptoTest’s growing portfolio of high-end, fiber-optic test equipment.

CommScope Inc. (NYSE: CTV) says it has sold its wireless test and measurement product line to Anite plc. Anite supplies test and measurement tools under the Nemo brand through its network testing business based in Oulu, Finland.

JDSU says it has established an optical network test lab and scholarship program at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). JDSU has provided a range of instruments for the BUPT lab that will enable live network testing for all stages of optical network development. JDSU is also funding an annual scholarship program for BUPT students pursuing advanced telecommunications and engineering degrees.

Spirent Communications (LSE: SPT) has introduced IP video performance monitoring capabilities to its Spirent TestCenter Live. The new IP video performance monitoring capabilities enable MSOs to evaluate the quality of their network and the customers’ service via a single tool that tests both the Ethernet backbone and the IP video streams being delivered over the network, Spirent says.
