(NASDAQ: IKAN) has unveiled the Fusiv Vx185 and Vx183, a pair of communications processors for services gateways and integrated access devices that, when paired with Fusiv-enabled central office equipment, will support increased bandwidth over copper in fiber to the node (FTTN) networks via ITU G.Vector performance.

Tektronix Inc. likes the pairing of its real-time oscilloscopes with Optametra’s optical modulation analysis capabilities so much that it has bought the company. The acquisition puts Tektronix in direct competition with Agilent Technologies and EXFO for the supply of optical modulation analyzers used to evaluate coherent optical receivers for transmission at 40 Gbps, 100 Gbps, and higher data rates.

With optical modulation analysis of coherent-enabled signals in mind, LeCroy Corp. has unveiled a 36 GHz Acquisition Module for its LabMaster 9 Zi-A Modular Oscilloscope System. The 36 GHz Acquisition Module enables the oscilloscope to better meet the optical test and measurement requirements of such modulation formats as dual-polarization quadrature phase-shift keying (DP-QPSK), by supplying high-bandwidth capability on four channels, matching DP-QPSK’s four-phase operation.
