Quick Mate Duplex LC optical connector

Molex Inc. has unveiled the Quick Mate Duplex (QMD) LC Optical Connector, a ruggedized connector that includes a one-step, push-pull configuration that can be mated directly to Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers.

The QMD’s durable latching system is designed to ensure positive mating of the LC connector to the SFP optical module in demanding applications such as remote radio heads or closed circuit TV. The IP67 environmentally sealed connector leverages a licensing agreement with Radiall SA for its One Step Interconnect Solution (OSIS) fiber to the antenna interconnect technology.

Molex will supply the QMD fiber-optic connector as part of a factory assembled and tested cable assembly or as a connector kit that can be applied to a customer-built cable assembly or an existing on-site assembly. It can accommodate singlemode and multimode fiber-optic cable and withstand temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius.
