Updates were given on the progress of the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) construction upgrades. The project includes installing new fiber cables in their network. In the past year, the co-op has been able to complete the Bible Grove exchange upgrade. They were able to add fifty-miles of fiber cable for the western and northern parts of the Geff exchange.
Hamilton County Construction Company contractors continued their work in the rural portion of the Louisville exchange, installing approximately 99 miles of new fiber cable. The co-op plans to complete the fiber optic upgrades in the Geff and Louisville exchanges, and start construction in the Cisne exchange. Despite heavy capital investment in the project, the co-op was financially able to return $255,000 in capital credits and $190,000 in customer rebates.
In other business at the meeting, three board directors were reseated for new terms. They are Dwight Edgington of the Xenia exchange, Richard Bennett of the Orchardville and Cisne exchange, and Jack Enlow of the Mt. Erie exchange.
