Sunrise Telecom offers spectrum analyzer for digital cable plant

Sunrise Telecom Inc. (OTC: SRTI) has introduced the AT2500RQ4, a CATV spectrum analyzer with enhanced modulation error rate (MER) performance.

The AT2500RQ4 improves impairment detection in the head end to ensure that cable operators can eliminate problems in the network before they affect the end customer experience, according to Sunrise Telecom. The AT2500 series also offers a feature set that includes one-button automated digital proof of performance test capabilities.

Via its enhanced QAM performance, the AT2500RQ4 can enable technicians to quickly perform sophisticated tests and get accurate results at higher MER levels, Sunrise Telecom asserts.

Along with the AT2500RQ4 test engine, Sunrise Telecom offers realWORX WEB, a 24/7 return path monitoring and downstream performance system for pinpointing service-affecting issues.

“The demand for digital video continues to grow at a very rapid rate and cable service providers are reacting to bandwidth demand, aggressively deploying ‘all digital’ cable plants,” explained Bahaa Moukadam, CEO of Sunrise Telecom. “However, along with improved bandwidth efficiency, digital networks can be far more susceptible to performance degradation from network impairments.
