EO polymer materials have advantages such as high EO coefficient, closely matched optical and millimeter wave indices and relative low loss tangents, promising polymer EO modulators with high speed, low drive voltage and small form factor sizes to meet the next generation telecom system requirements. Polymer EO modulators TFPS (Thin Film Polymer on Silicon) EO modulators are fabricated by spin-coating EO polymer thin films on silicon substrate, offering low cost of manufacturing.
Grace Klonoski, OIDA Senior Director, stated, "The goal of the OIDA workshop is to establish a roadmap for optical access aggregation networks with an emphasis on quantitative metrics at the system level. In addition to specifying goals for individual links and network nodes, this program will focus on establishing metrics for end-to-end transmission. We're delighted Dr. Raluca will be among our guest speakers, her presentation and contributions to the road-mapping sessions will be greatly valued."
"I am honored to be part of this OIDA roadmapping workshop," commented Dr. Raluca Dinu, Vice President and General Manager of the Optics Product Line at GigOptix. "GigOptix uniquely understands that the roadmap for future networks must be brought to discussion and understood in order to address the bandwidth challenges of next generation systems."
