Red Lion Controls, the global experts in communication, monitoring and control for industrial automation, today announced a new N-Tron series of compact high-voltage industrial Ethernet switches designed for use in extreme environments.
Red Lion's N-Tron series of compact high-voltage switches provides a variety of fiber connectivity options that enables customers to cost-effectively customize solutions to meet specific network requirements. With up to four fiber optic ports, the new switches provide noise immunity for areas subject to high electromagnetic interference (EMI). Fiber Ethernet supports distances up to 80km, making it ideal for wind farm, railway and power applications.
The N-Tron high-voltage switches provide a uniform basis for the protection, connectivity and control of communications devices in harsh environments. The series is certified by KEMA Labs, a respected certification testing laboratory specializing in the energy market for compliance with the IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards for electric utility applications such as power substations.
"Our new high-voltage Ethernet switches are built to withstand the harsh conditions and unique requirements of power substation, wind farm and railway applications," said Diane Davis, product manager of connectivity solutions for Red Lion Controls. "In addition to industrial-grade packaging and IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards compliance, these switches offer a compact form factor and flexible mounting options for use anywhere in the network, especially in areas where space is very limited."
