Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene off FM 289, along with Kerr County authorities.
Boerne City Hall, the Boerne Police Department and other agencies in Boerne lost service at about 1 p.m. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Department was not affected.
The break in an AT&T fiber optic cable affected many different services including customers of Bee Creek and Windstream. In addition to Kendall County, other areas affected included Burnet County, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Blanco and parts of Horseshoe Bay, according to AT&T. In some areas, cell phone service was affected as well as landline phone service.
