J.R. Simplot selects Zayo for 10G critical metro connectivity among corporate data centers in Boise

J.R. Simplot, a privately owned food processing and agricultural company, has selected Zayo, a provider of bandwidth and fiber infrastructure services, to provide high-bandwidth connectivity to 10 major facilities in the Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell, Idaho area.

Zayo is providing 10Gbps Wavelength service between Simplot’s two enterprise data centers, as well as ring-protected, metro Ethernet service connecting its 10 major Boise-area locations with its facilities across the nation and around the world. This new metropolitan area network enables Simplot to integrate its various locations more readily, support disaster recovery planning, and leverage both its ERP system investments and AgVance, a strategic business application for managing land and livestock operations, across all its facilities.

“We don’t view Zayo as a vendor, but as a partner core to our business strategies,” says Mark Sachs, network technology manager for Simplot. “Not only does Zayo have a large network presence in Boise, but when we were evaluating network partners, the entire Zayo team comprising engineers, executives, and sales took the time to understand our needs and develop a custom solution for us.”

Zayo‘s network in Boise and the surrounding areas includes 175 on-net buildings and 182 route miles of fiber.
