Delta Electronics to use GigOptix four-channel VCSEL

GigOptix, Inc. (OTCQB: GGOX) says it will supply HXT/R5004 four-channel 10-Gbps VSCEL driver and receiver amplifier chipsets to Delta Electronics, Inc. for use in active optical cable (AOC) and pluggable products.

The HXT/R5 chipset family has been designed to support multiple applications ranging from 1 to 10 Gbps per channel and enable designers to optimize the tradeoff between power dissipation and performance of the optical link, GigOptix says. The chipset offers 30% less power dissipation at 10 Gbps than the previous chip generation, 2.0 dB better receiver sensitivity under typical operating conditions, and the addition of advanced monitoring and power reduction functions, GigOptix adds.
