BroadLight introduces new Helios embedded processor line

BroadLight, a supplier of fiber access processors, has released its Helios embedded processor line of products, intended to provide a unified hardware and software platform with which to develop a broader variety of carrier-grade access products and technologies.

BroadLight’s Helios line of integrated single-chip system can be widely applied by networking CPEs for the access market. Based on BroadLight’s fiber-grade architecture in combination with its 40nm technology, the Helios line is designed to deliver a high-performance, flexible multi-core processor to the market for applications, such as Ethernet Access Gateways, VoIP-enabled access, business CPEs, security appliances, and integrated wireless business routers.

The Helios product line is now available in production quantities.BroadLight customers are shipping systems into carrier-class routers, as well as securing additional customer design wins. The Helios product offerings will be on display later this month at CommunicAsia 2011, booth 1B5-02 in Singapore on June 21 through 24h. BroadLight will also be presenting at the conference’s Next Generation Broadband Track.
