SK Broadband uses BroadLight Helios processors in new business gateway

PON semiconductor and software vendor BroadLight says that Deonet will supply its DI-3124 Business Gateway System to SK Broadband. The DI-3124 Business Gateway System uses BroadLight’s Helios embedded multi-core processors.

South Korea-based Deonet offers a range of equipment to support broadband service delivery, including Layer 2 switches, gateways, and GPON CPE. For example, the DI-3124 enterprise gateway offers a 1-Gbps WAN interface. The single-chip Helios embedded processors enabling the DI-3124 to support a range of service functions, such as 1-Gbps NAT routing and 16K multiple sessions, stable triple-play service, quality of service (QoS) and security, BroadLight asserts. The Helios chip also enables system management via SNMP and Web GUI, the company adds.

“We are pleased to provide the Korean construction fields and SK broadband market with a business gateway solution such as the DI-3124 that fully supports the networking requirements” said Daniel Oh, CEO of Deonet. “The use of BroadLight’s embedded multi-core processor family is extremely suitable for the CPE market and its wide applications range”.
